Jennifer Pierce

Founder of Adapt Engage Inspire, and Financial Services & Energy Executive

Jennifer brings 25+ years experience in the financial services and energy industries as a global leader in both commercial and HR roles.

Jennifer began her career as a registered representative for Strong Capital Management, an asset management firm, advising small business owners on employee stock option and retirement plans. In 1995 she joined William Blair as an investment banking analyst, where she focused primarily on the consumer and business services sectors in public offerings and sell and buy-side mergers and acquisitions.  Subsequently she was hired by a client to support the CFO of a newly public marketing analytics company to assist in financial reporting and merger activity.  After the successful sale of that company in 1999, Jennifer returned to William Blair to manage the Investment Banking Analyst Program.  From 2003 – 2012 Jennifer held various HR leadership roles in investment banking, proprietary trading, and energy / commodities trading.

In 2012 Jennifer pivoted back to the commercial side of the business with BP’s energy trading organization. Jennifer led the Diesel & Jet Fuel Commodities trading and origination business for the Americas, significantly improving gross margin and profitability over a three-year period, including securing a long term supply agreement and equity infusion to a large Peruvian oil company. In 2017 she moved to London to lead the global LPG trading business during a period of market transition, recommending and subsequently executing the integration of the LPG business into the global light ends trading division. From 2018 – 2019 she led the gasoline, LPG and naphtha commercial team for Europe, Russia and West Africa, where she oversaw the closing of an historic long-term product supply contract into Nigeria.

After a four-month sabbatical to volunteer with an NGO in Nepal, Jennifer returned to BP as a direct report to the CEO of the Integrated Supply & Trading organization. Tasked with leading a global culture transformation of the trading business, she aligned commodity leaders and executive management to a more holistic approach to attract, develop, and retain ‘talent of the future’.

In October 2020 Jennifer left the corporate world to start Adapt, Engage, Inspire, a coaching and consulting platform to empower individuals to positively impact workplace culture, optimize business performance and boost employee engagement.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1993 with a business degree. She is an advisor to Pegasus Commodities and is an active member of The Talent Collective. A mother of two grown sons, Jennifer and her husband recently relocated to the beach in Florida, where she enjoys sea turtle conservation, yin yoga and volunteering.
